Attend the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress 2024 in Helsinki and Espoo, Finland or online between 10-14 June 2024.
Since 2021, the Sustainability Research & Innovation Congress (SRI) has united global leaders in research, government, civil society, and business to meaningfully advance progress towards sustainability. The SRI Congress offers an exceptionally inclusive and inspiring global platform for co-creating state-of-the-art solutions and innovations, and building a coalition of the willing to achieve a sustainability transformation. SRI is co-convened by Future Earth and the Belmont Forum and co-organized with local hosts.
SRI has been held in Oceania, Africa, and Latin America, and is now heading to Europe. In 2024, SRI will be organised in collaboration with Sustainability Science Days (SSD), which for over six years has been the largest sustainability science conference in Finland. SSD is a joint collaborative effort between Finland’s two largest universities, the University of Helsinki, and Aalto University.
SRI 2024 will bring together 2,000+ participants from more than 100 countries, online and in-person, with events on both campuses in Helsinki and Espoo.
Call for Submissions
The Call for Contributions is officially open for the 2024 Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress, organised in collaboration with Sustainability Science Days (SRI/SSD2024). The call for contributions also invites proposals for the Satellite Event in Africa. Submissions are welcome from diverse groups of people working to accelerate sustainability transformations, including those from the research sector, government, business, and civil society.

The extended deadline to submit is 20 December 2023.
Scholarships Available for Early Career Participants from Asia and Oceania
A limited number of scholarships are available to support onsite participation in SRI/SSD2024. Awardees must be early-career participants arriving from Finnair destinations in Asia and Oceania and preference will be given to:
- Applicants with accepted Congress contributions.
- Participants from low and middle-income countries.
The scholarship application deadline is 15 February 2024.
