MRD Call 39 2 Climate Change 20x15cm 200dpi

The international, peer-reviewed journal Mountain Research and Development (MRD), in collaboration with MRI, has issued a call for papers for a focus issue on 'Adaptation to Climate Change and Sustainable Development in Mountains.'

Through this focus issue, MRD and MRI aim to present systematically assessed novel practices and well-researched insights into the implications of climate change, while also contributing to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 6th Assessment Report.

Mountains and mountain people are critically affected by climate change. Recognizing the specific challenges that mountain people face, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will include a cross-chapter paper on mountains in its 6th Assessment Report (AR6), which will be published in 2021. Synthesis papers comparing case studies within and across different mountain regions are of particular interest to the IPCC’s assessment efforts; they are also crucial to inform development policies.

Mountain research and development communities are encouraged to contribute.

Extended abstracts are due by 19 January 2018, full papers by 15 August 2018.

You can find out more about the journal’s section policies, guidelines, and submission procedure on the MRD website.
