Innovative interdisciplinary research  on climate change, mountain ecosystems, and public health in the Andes+ region.

Conéctate-A+ invites you to participate in the virtual seminar series The Co-Production of Science and the Governance of Sustainability in the Tropical Andes and Central America (Andes+).

The first session of this cycle is entitled Science, Policy, and Power: The Subnational Governance of Extractive Industries in Peru and will take place, in Spanish, on Thursday, January 14 at 9:30 am (Lima, Quito, and Bogotá) / 3:30 pm (CET). During this online event, two renowned researchers – Maria-Therese Gustafsson and Martin Scurrah – will present the results of their in-depth fieldwork in two locations economically dependent on large scale mining, and discuss the role of strategies implemented by governments and sub-national political actors in environmental governance, especially in the context of the neoliberal expansion of extractive industries in the Andes and Central America.

This event will be held in Spanish.

Register to participate.
