The International Mountain Conference 2019 Students4Students Summer School is aimed at PhD students working in the fields of Mountain Biology, Mountain Hazards, and Mountain Tourism, and takes place 1-7 September 2019 at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.

The summer school is offered in conjunction with and takes place immediately prior to the International Mountain Conference 2019 (IMC 2019) in order to provide PhD students with extended possibilities to discuss their research in detail with fellow students and experts. A strong focus will be placed upon on peer-to-peer interactions to encourage networking among PhD students that can be capitalized on in future research careers. The summer school will also be excellent preparation for IMC 2019, which the students are very much encouraged to attend.

  6. Students in the ECTS system will gain ECTS credits from the University of Innsbruck. 
HOW TO APPLY
In order to apply, PhD students are requested to submit a recommendation letter from their PhD supervisor, plus an abstract for a workshop (max. 300 words) indicating how their expertise will contribute to the questions raised in the workshop description.

COSTS AND TRAVEL GRANTS
The Student4Student Summer School fee is 400 Euros. This includes transport (Innsbruck-Obergurgl-Innsbruck), housing, full board in Obergurgl (1-5 September 2019), and the excursions to Hohe Mut and Längenfeld.

For the second part of the summer school taking place in Innsbruck (5-7 September 2019) and for the IMC2019 the following week (8-12 September 2019) participants are asked to book (and pay for) their own accommodation in Innsbruck.

The University of Innsbruck will provide 10 travel grants to participants from developing countries.
