The HUC Academy 2018, 'Climate Science and Adaptation in the Hindu Kush Himalayan Region – A Transdisciplinary Approach,' will take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, 1–14 July 2018.

The project aims to advance climate science knowledge and promote effective and sustainable adaptation measures. It is part of a two-year grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. It seeks to upscale the impacts of interventions made by the Indian Himalayas Climate Adaptation Programme to the wider Hindu Kush Himalayan region and promote regional collaboration between institutions of higher education in India and those in neighbouring countries, under the continued support of Swiss expertise.

The HUC Academy is aimed at early-career faculty members and PhD/Doctoral scholars from HUC member universities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan who are conducting research and training on issues related to climate change and adaptation for sustainable mountain development. A good working knowledge of English is required.

Application deadline is 30 April 2018.
