The Early Career Award of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW) was established in 1996 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the SAGW. The aim of the award is to promote researchers at an early stage of their career in the humanities and social sciences in Switzerland. The prize honours three articles of outstanding quality that have been published in a scientific publication format. The prize, worth a total of CHF 18,000, is awarded each spring at the annual meeting of the SAGW. The prize money is divided into three prizes:
1st prize: 10,000 Swiss francs
2nd prize: 5000 francs
3rd prize: 3000 francs
A committee made up of 13 professors and lecturers from the humanities and social sciences selects the winners.
The call for applications for the Early Career Award 2025 is now open and will run until 2 December 2024.
