The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued a call for nominations of experts to act as Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors, or Review Editors for the three key Working Group contributions to IPCC´s Seventh Assessment Report (AR7). This follows the Panel’s agreement on the outlines of the three Working Group contributions, which includes a cross-chapter paper on mountains, during its 62nd Session held in Hangzhou, China.
In this information webinar, we present a brief overview of the IPCC AR7 and share some insights and advice on how to get involved in and contribute to the AR7 assessment, including lessons learnt from the IPCC’s sixth assessment (AR6). In this webinar, we specifically take a “mountains lens” perspective to highlight opportunities for mountain-specific inputs, plus share some tips and recommendations for the nomination process and beyond. The webinar is structured around expert inputs, followed by ample time for discussion, questions, and answers. We encourage those who are new to the IPCC assessment process, and early career professionals interested in being involved, to join us at this session.
