CLOC Conectate A+ is thrilled to announce an upcoming onsite event in Lima, Peru, from July 1st to 3rd, 2025, in celebration of two landmark initiatives: 

  • The launch of the International Year of Preservation of Glaciers 2025 
  • The start of the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences (2025–2034) 

This series of meetings will provide a unique platform to engage with the international research community and strengthen collaborations on climate change, mountain regions, and the cryosphere. 

Program Highlights 

CLOC Assembly 

On Tuesday, 1 July 2025, the CLOC Conéctate A+ Assembly will be held. This strategic meeting will bring together researchers and professionals linked to the CLOC network, committed to the topics of climate change, human health, and biodiversity.

This event will be a key space for the review, evaluation, and strategic projection of the network. The network will address the achievements of the last four years, analyze its scholarship programs, and discuss new opportunities for visibility, funding, and inter-institutional collaboration.

Workshop Objectives:

  • To evaluate the activities and results achieved by CLOC in recent years.
  • To strengthen ties among network members.
  • To propose improvements to scholarship programs and communication strategies.
  • To project new actions and themes for the future.

Workshop on climate change research networks in the Andes

The Climate Change Networks Workshop will be held on Wednesday, 2 July. This is a key initiative to strengthen collaboration, coordination, and communication among the main research networks operating in the Andean region.

The event will bring together representatives from networks such as CLOC Conéctate A+, AccelNet, Andex, the Andean Mountain Initiative, the Mountain Research Initiative, the IMHEA Network, among others, in a space for dialogue and strategic exchange. It will also provide a valuable platform for interacting with decision-makers, gaining insights from their perspectives, and better understanding the needs of research networks.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Identify common challenges in climate change research in the Andes.
  • Strengthen inter-network synergies.
  • Design collaborative communication and advocacy strategies.
  • Connect networks with key stakeholders to enhance their impact.

This is a not-to-miss opportunity to engage in high-level discussions, foster collaborations, and contribute to global efforts on glacier and cryosphere preservation.
