Durham Glaciology is currently advertising a range of glaciology/polar-related projects (listed below) funded by the 2026/27 IAPETUS DTP studentship competition:
- From ice to ecosystem: assessing the risk of glacier melt and legacy contamination for reindeer in Sápmi (Lapland) – primary supervisor Dr Caroline Clason
- Holocene ice sheet-ocean interaction and glacimarine sedimentation in Greenland fjords – primary supervisor Professor Colm O’Cofaigh
- Antarctic sea ice, circulation and ice sheet interactions in the Southeastern Weddell Sea – primary supervisor Professor Erin McClymont
- Investigating interactions between subglacial landscape evolution and Antarctic Ice Sheet behaviour – primary supervisor Dr Guy Paxman
- Investigating past changes in Greenland melting and its impacts on ocean circulation as a key to the future – primary supervisor Dr Paola Moffa-Sanchez

IAPETUS will also be holding an online Q&A workshop for applicants where there will be a brief presentation on the application process as well as an opportunity to ask any questions applicants may have.
