France, Grenoble

The 38th International Conference on Alpine Meteorology (ICAM) will be held 7-11 June 2027 in Grenoble in the French Alps. ICAM 2027 will be an onsite event with oral and poster sessions. It will also be possible to stream oral sessions.

Contributions are encouraged on all aspects of mountain weather and changing climate, from fundamental research to operational challenges in mountainous regions, including but not limited to:

  • Surface processes in mountain environments including the cryosphere
  • Boundary layer processes over complex terrain
  • Orographic clouds and precipitation, including extreme events
  • Mountain climate: variability and changes
  • Meteorological applications: renewable energy, air quality, water resources, risks, ecosystems, urban environment, infrastructures and society
  • Numerical weather prediction over complex terrain (incl. model developments, data assimilation, predictability studies and verification)

Submissions that present results from field campaigns are strongly encouraged, in particular related to the TEAMx program – multi-scale transport and exchange processes in the atmosphere over mountains.

Submissions that extend beyond these areas are also welcome, with particular emphasis on research exploring AI as a cross-cutting theme, as well as interdisciplinary approaches to mountain meteorology and climate.

Dates and Venue
