The AccelNet-ACCORD 2026–2027 Seminar Series kicks off with a presentation by Lucas Ruiz (IANIGLA, Mendoza; Geoestudios, Santiago), exploring the importance of glaciers and periglacial environments as natural water reserves in the Andes, with a focus on recent changes to Argentina’s Glacier Law.

The seminar forms part of a monthly series bringing together researchers and practitioners to share their work, discuss emerging challenges, and exchange knowledge on climate research in the Andes.

The Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) is an implementing partner of AccelNet-ACCORD, supporting science-policy dialogue, communications, and outreach. Learn more about MRI’s involvement in the project.

Participation: The seminar is open to all. To join the seminar mailing list and receive participation details, please contact Siyao Du at sdu4@albany.edu.
