The Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology will co-host the Global Tipping Points Conference in July 2025.

The programme will cover the latest developments in both negative and positive tipping points, at scales from local to global, and from theory to practice. It will consider the risks from climate tipping points and opportunities for positive tipping points for different regions, communities, sectors, and supply chains.

Parallel research sessions

These two-hour sessions should focus on a well-defined topic. Each session will include 4-6 presentations, with time allocated for questions and discussions. If selected, your session will be featured in the thematic guidance issued with the call for abstracts. As a convener, you will be responsible for organising and managing your session on the day, reviewing abstracts alongside the conference committee, and setting the session’s structure and format. Conveners (2 max per session) will be eligible for a reduced conference registration fee.

Deadline for session proposals: 26th November 2024.
